Who runs this website
Moonbeam Tale is written, narrated and operated by Hydee M. If you have a question about your information, you can contact Moonbeam Tale through the Contact form on this website.
Information collected
Browsing Moonbeam Tale does not require an account, and there are no public user accounts. No information is requested from you simply for reading pages or watching stories.
Information is collected only when you choose to send it, through the Star of the Tale form or the Contact form. The Star of the Tale form asks for:
- Your name as parent or guardian and an email address so a reply can be sent.
- Your child’s first name, age and gender, and—optionally—how their name is pronounced and their ethnicity or cultural background.
- Appearance details used to imagine an illustrated character: skin tone, hair colour, hair length, hair texture, eye colour, and, when provided, hair style, distinctive features and favourite clothing or style.
- Interests and hobbies, favourite things, personality, story ideas or themes, and any other information you choose to share voluntarily.
- Your agreement to the parent or guardian permission statement.
Ethnicity or cultural background is entirely optional, as are the other fields marked optional on the form.
The form asks you not to include your child’s surname, home address, school name, phone number, medical information, exact location, or any other unnecessary identifying information.
The Contact form
The Contact form collects your name, your email address, a subject and your message.
This information is used only to:
- receive your inquiry
- respond to you
- keep the communication history needed to follow up
Email addresses submitted through the Contact form are not automatically added to a newsletter or marketing list, and are not sold, rented or shared for third-party marketing.
How the information is used
- To write, illustrate and narrate a Moonbeam Tale inspired by the information provided about your child.
- To contact you at the email address you provided about your child’s Moonbeam Tale, including once it is published.
Your email address is used only in connection with your Star of the Tale submission and the resulting story. It is not automatically subscribed to a newsletter, not added to a marketing list, not sold or rented, and not shared with anyone for third-party marketing.
What becomes public
If a Moonbeam Tale is created for your child, their first name and an illustrated character inspired by the appearance and characteristics provided may appear publicly.
Details you share about your child — such as interests, hobbies, favourite things, personality, appearance or story ideas — may also inspire or be woven into the fictional story.
The following are never publicly displayed:
- Your name as parent or guardian
- Your email address
- Administrative information about the submission
- Private communication with Moonbeam Tale
- Any other contact information
The resulting story may be published or shared through Moonbeam Tale’s YouTube channel, MoonbeamTale.com, Moonbeam Tale social media pages, digital books or eBooks, and related Moonbeam Tale promotional content — as described in the permission checkbox on the form.
Children’s privacy
Star of the Tale submissions may only be made by the child’s parent or legal guardian, or by an adult who has permission from the child’s parent or legal guardian. Children should not submit the form themselves.
There are no public user accounts on Moonbeam Tale, and children are not asked to create one or to send information directly.
Storage, security and retention
Submissions and email replies are stored in a secured, access controlled database and file storage. Only the site owner can read them, through an authenticated private area protected by server-side authorisation and database access rules.
Submissions are kept for as long as they may be needed for the story they relate to. You can ask for yours to be deleted at any time.
Spam protection
To stop the form being flooded, a one-way hashed form of the sending IP address is stored alongside the submission and used only to limit how many submissions can be sent from the same connection in a short time. The original IP address itself is not stored.
The form also includes a simple CAPTCHA question before submission. This challenge is generated and checked by Moonbeam Tale’s own server — there is no third-party CAPTCHA provider, and no extra information about you is collected or sent elsewhere for it.
Services used
- Lovable — hosts and serves the website.
- Supabase — provides the database and file storage where submissions, replies and attachments are kept.
- Resend (through Lovable’s email service) — delivers notification emails and replies sent from Moonbeam Tale.
- YouTube — hosts the story videos. Video details shown on this site are read from YouTube’s public feed, and watching or interacting with a story on YouTube is subject to Google’s and YouTube’s own privacy practices.
Cookies and analytics
Moonbeam Tale does not use analytics, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking technologies. The only cookies and stored data are strictly necessary ones that keep the site owner signed in to the private area of the site.
Your choices
You may withdraw your permission before the story is published by contacting Moonbeam Tale. If a story has already been published, you may still contact Moonbeam Tale to request removal from channels under Moonbeam Tale’s control. Copies that have already been downloaded, shared, reposted, distributed or otherwise obtained by others may not be recoverable.
You may also ask to see, correct or delete the personal information you submitted, subject to anything that must legitimately be retained. To make a request, please use the Contact form and your request will be handled as soon as reasonably possible.
